저는 먼저 예수 그리스도께 부름받은 제자입니다.

제가 제자로 살아가는 것은 특별한 열심이나 개인적인 선택에서 시작되지 않습니다. 하나님께서 먼저 저를 구원하시고 그리스도의 사람으로 부르셨기 때문에, 저는 그분의 말씀을 듣고 따르는 제자로 살아갑니다. 제자도는 구원을 얻기 위한 조건이 아니라, 은혜로 부름받은 사람이 살아가는 순종의 삶입니다.

말씀을 읽을수록 선교 역시 특별한 몇 사람에게만 맡겨진 선택적인 사역이 아님을 깨닫게 됩니다. 모든 그리스도인이 같은 나라로 가거나 같은 방식으로 섬기는 것은 아니지만, 모든 제자는 세상 가운데 복음의 증인으로 보냄받았습니다. 그러므로 그리스도인에게 중요한 질문은 “나는 선교를 해야 하는가?”가 아니라, “보냄받은 제자로서 하나님께서 맡기신 자리와 은사로 어디에서 어떻게 순종할 것인가?”입니다.

Mission2035

Mission2035는 이 보편적인 부르심과 보내심이 저의 삶에서 구체적인 방향을 얻은 개인적 부르심입니다.

하나님께서는 제가 해외에서 박사과정을 마친 뒤, 2035년부터 교육 자원이 부족하고 복음을 접할 기회가 제한된 나라의 대학으로 나아가도록 부르고 계심을 확인시켜 주셨습니다. 그곳에서 교육자이자 자비량 캠퍼스 선교사로 살아가며, 현지 교회와 동역하여 학생들에게 복음을 전하고 그들을 예수 그리스도의 제자로 세우고자 합니다.

저의 목표는 단순히 많은 사람에게 복음을 전하는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님께서 맡기신 한 사람을 사랑하고 말씀과 삶을 나누며, 그가 다시 자기 친구와 후배, 캠퍼스와 민족을 섬기는 제자로 자라도록 동행하는 것입니다.

Mission2035는 제가 제자로 살아가는 이유가 아닙니다. Mission2035는 그리스도의 제자로 부름받은 제가 그 부르심에 구체적으로 응답하는 방식입니다.

JDM에서 배운 부르심과 제자도

저는 2020년부터 2026년까지 JDM(예수제자운동) 수원지구에서 복음전파·제자훈련·세계선교의 비전을 배웠습니다. 캠퍼스를 선교지로 바라보며, 복음을 전하는 데서 그치지 않고 한 사람을 그리스도의 제자로 세우는 삶을 훈련받았습니다.

JDM에서 받은 가장 중요한 유산은 “만인을 그리스도의 제자로”라는 비전입니다. 복음을 들은 한 사람이 말씀에 순종하는 책임 있는 제자로 성장하고, 그 제자가 다시 또 다른 사람을 세우는 삶입니다. Mission2035는 JDM에서 받은 이 제자운동과 캠퍼스 선교의 유산을 열방의 대학으로 이어 가는 저의 응답입니다.

현재는 경원교회 청년부 대표단과 대학부 목장장으로 섬기고 있습니다. 먼 나라에서 감당할 미래의 사명을 말하기에 앞서, 지금 하나님께서 곁에 맡기신 한 사람을 사랑하고 말씀으로 세우는 것이 먼저라고 믿습니다. Mission2035는 2035년에 갑자기 시작되는 계획이 아니라, 오늘의 교회와 공동체에서 감당하는 작은 순종을 통해 이미 시작되고 있습니다. 현재의 섬김은 ministry 페이지에 있습니다.

연구라는 텐트

연구는 Mission2035를 이루기 위한 단순한 취업 수단이나 생계 수단이 아닙니다. 연구와 교육 역시 지금 하나님께서 제게 맡기신 학문적 소명입니다.

현재 저는 아주대학교 AI융합네트워크학과 석사과정에서 신뢰할 수 있고 해석 가능한 의료 AI를 연구하고 있습니다. 높은 정확도를 보이는 의료 AI가 실제로 임상적으로 타당한 근거를 사용하는지 검증하고, 사람과 의료 현장을 더욱 정직하고 책임 있게 섬기는 기술을 연구하고자 합니다. 연구 소개는 research에 있습니다.

장차 연구와 교육은 제가 열방의 대학에서 학생들 곁에 오래 머물며 그들을 가르치고 섬기게 할 저의 텐트가 될 것입니다. 강의실과 연구실은 단순한 직업의 공간이 아니라, 사랑과 정직과 섬김으로 복음을 증언하고 제자를 세워 갈 선교지입니다.

함께 걷는 자비량 선교팀

Mission2035는 저 혼자 감당하는 계획이 아닙니다. 예수 그리스도께 부름받은 제자들이 각자의 전문 영역에서 일하며, 함께 기도하고 준비하며 열방을 향해 걸어가는 자비량 선교팀으로 세워져 가고 있습니다.

우리는 직분이나 역할보다 한 가지 정체성을 공유합니다 — 예수님의 제자라는 것입니다. 각자의 일터와 학업이 곧 선교의 텐트가 되고, 서로의 부르심을 확인하고 지지하는 공동체가 되고자 합니다. 함께하는 지체들은 team 페이지에서 소개합니다.

삶 전체로 응답하는 부르심

하나님께서 부르시는 곳으로 가기 위해서는 학위와 전문성만이 아니라 삶 전체가 준비되어야 한다고 믿습니다. 영성과 인격, 실력과 공동체성, 시간과 재정, 관계와 미래까지 모두 하나님의 것으로 받아들이고 충성된 청지기로 살아가고자 합니다.

저는 사도 바울처럼 주 예수께 받은 사명을 마치기 위해 자신의 생명을 아끼지 않는 종이 되고 싶습니다. 또한 짐 엘리엇처럼 영원히 간직할 수 없는 것을 붙들기보다, 영원한 하나님 나라를 위해 한 번뿐인 생애를 기꺼이 드리고 싶습니다.

그러나 이 헌신의 중심은 저의 희생이나 결단이 아닙니다. 먼저 저를 사랑하시고 부르시며 보내시는 하나님의 은혜입니다. 저는 스스로 위대한 일을 이루려는 사람이 아니라, 하나님께서 맡기신 자리에서 끝까지 순종하는 충성된 종이 되고자 합니다.

하나님 나라의 임하심을 구하며

선교의 목적은 저의 이름이나 사역을 확장하는 것이 아닙니다. 예수 그리스도의 복음으로 한 사람이 새로워지고, 세워진 제자가 다시 다른 사람을 섬기며, 한 캠퍼스와 공동체 가운데 하나님 나라의 열매가 나타나는 것입니다.

하나님의 나라는 저의 능력이나 인간의 발전으로 이루어지지 않습니다. 오직 예수 그리스도의 복음과 성령의 역사로 임합니다. 저는 구원자가 아니라 복음의 증인이며, 하나님 나라의 주인이 아니라 그 나라를 섬기는 종입니다.

그러므로 저는 결과를 소유하려 하지 않고, 하나님께서 보내시는 자리에서 복음을 전하고 사람을 사랑하며 제자를 세우고자 합니다. 모든 열매는 하나님께서 맺게 하신다는 믿음으로, 부르심에 끝까지 순종할 것입니다.

나의 선교 고백

나는 하나님의 은혜로 예수 그리스도께 부름받은 제자이다. 나는 나를 부르신 주님의 음성을 듣고 그분의 말씀을 따라 살아간다. 나는 그리스도의 제자로서 세상 가운데 복음의 증인으로 보냄받았다. 나는 선교를 특별한 소수만의 사역이 아니라, 모든 제자가 각자의 자리와 은사로 참여해야 할 성경적 순종으로 믿는다. 나는 JDM에서 받은 복음전파·제자훈련·세계선교의 유산을 따라, 한 사람을 사랑하고 그가 다시 다른 사람을 세우는 제자로 자라도록 동행한다. 나는 학문과 직업, 시간과 물질, 관계와 미래, 건강과 생명을 하나님의 것으로 받아들이고 충성된 청지기로 사용한다. 나는 2035년부터 하나님께서 보내시는 나라의 대학에서 교육자이자 자비량선교사로 살아간다. 나는 현지 교회와 동역하여 학생들에게 복음을 전하고, 그들이 자기 캠퍼스와 민족과 다음 세대를 섬기는 제자로 세워지도록 돕는다. 나는 세상의 성공보다 하나님의 영광을, 이 땅의 보상보다 하늘의 상급을 구한다. 나는 나를 부르시고 보내시는 하나님께 나의 전 생애로 응답하며, 하나님 나라의 임하심을 위해 끝까지 충성한다.

말씀을 통해 분별해 온 부르심

Mission2035는 어느 날 갑자기 세운 인생 계획이 아닙니다. 말씀을 묵상하고 공동체 안에서 순종하는 과정에서 하나님께서 반복하여 확인시켜 주신 부르심입니다.

요한복음을 묵상하며, 제자는 먼저 주님의 음성을 듣고 그분을 따르는 사람임을 배웠습니다. 제자의 삶은 그리스도 안에 거하며 열매를 맺고, 예수님께서 사랑하신 것처럼 서로 사랑하며, 주님께서 보여 주신 섬김을 삶으로 이어 가는 것입니다.

동시에 예수님께서 아버지께 보냄받으신 것처럼 제자들도 세상으로 보냄받았음을 확인했습니다. 사도행전을 통해서는 성령의 권능을 받은 교회가 가까운 곳에서부터 땅끝까지 예수 그리스도의 증인으로 살아가도록 부름받았음을 묵상했습니다.

말씀을 읽을수록 선교는 특별한 사람에게만 주어진 추가적인 사역이 아니라, 예수 그리스도를 따르는 제자의 삶에서 자연스럽게 이어지는 순종임을 깨닫게 되었습니다. 그 결과 저의 질문은 “선교를 할 것인가?”에서 “이미 보냄받은 제자로서 어디에서 어떻게 순종할 것인가?”로 바뀌었습니다.

Mission2035는 그 질문에 대한 현재의 응답입니다. 하나님께서 앞으로 더 분명하게 인도하실 것을 신뢰하며, 오늘 맡기신 말씀과 공동체와 학업 속에서 한 걸음씩 순종하고자 합니다.

I am, first of all, a disciple called by Jesus Christ.

Living as a disciple did not begin with unusual zeal or a personal choice of my own. Because God first saved me and called me to belong to Christ, I live as a disciple who listens to His word and follows Him. Discipleship is not a condition for earning salvation, but the life of obedience lived by one who has been called by grace.

The more I read Scripture, the more I see that mission, too, is not an optional ministry entrusted to only a special few. Not every Christian goes to the same country or serves in the same way, but every disciple is sent into the world as a witness of the gospel. So the important question for a Christian is not “Should I do missions?” but “As a disciple who has been sent, where and how will I obey with the place and gifts God has entrusted to me?”

Mission2035

Mission2035 is the personal calling in which this universal call and sending took concrete shape in my life.

God has confirmed that, after I complete a doctorate abroad, He is calling me — beginning in 2035 — to a university in a country where educational resources are scarce and access to the gospel is limited. There I hope to live as an educator and self-supporting (tentmaking) campus missionary, partnering with the local church to share the gospel with students and raise them as disciples of Jesus Christ.

My goal is not simply to preach the gospel to many people. It is to love the one person God entrusts to me, to share word and life with them, and to walk alongside them until they grow into a disciple who in turn serves their own friends, juniors, campus, and people.

Mission2035 is not the reason I live as a disciple. Mission2035 is the concrete way that I — called as a disciple of Christ — respond to that calling.

The Call and Discipleship I Learned in JDM

From 2020 to 2026 I learned the vision of gospel proclamation, discipleship training, and world mission in the Suwon district of JDM (Jesus Disciple Movement). Seeing the campus as a mission field, I was trained not merely to share the gospel but to raise a single person as a disciple of Christ.

The most important legacy I received in JDM is the vision of “everyone a disciple of Christ”: a person who hears the gospel grows into a responsible disciple who obeys the word, and that disciple in turn builds up another. Mission2035 is my response, carrying this legacy of the disciple movement and campus mission on to universities among the nations.

I currently serve on the young-adult leadership team and as a college small-group leader at Kyungwon Church. Before speaking of a future mission in a distant land, I believe it comes first to love and build up — through the word — the one person God has entrusted to me here and now. Mission2035 is not a plan that suddenly begins in 2035; it has already begun through the small obediences carried out in today’s church and community. My present service is on the ministry page.

Research as a Tent

Research is not merely a job or a means of livelihood for accomplishing Mission2035. Research and teaching are themselves a scholarly vocation God has entrusted to me now.

I am currently a master’s student in the Department of AI Convergence Network at Ajou University, studying trustworthy and interpretable medical AI. I want to verify whether a medical AI that shows high accuracy actually relies on clinically valid evidence, and to research technology that serves people and the clinical field more honestly and responsibly. In time, research and teaching will be the tent that lets me remain among students at universities in the nations for the long haul, teaching and serving them. The lecture hall and the lab are not merely places of employment, but a mission field where I will witness to the gospel through love, honesty, and service, and raise up disciples.

The Tentmaking Team Walking Together

Mission2035 is not a plan I carry alone. Disciples called by Jesus Christ are being built up as a self-supporting (tentmaking) mission team — each working in their own field of expertise, praying and preparing together, and walking toward the nations.

More than titles or roles, we share one identity: we are disciples of Jesus. Each member’s workplace and studies become a tent for mission, and we seek to be a community that confirms and supports one another’s calling. The members are introduced on the team page.

A Calling Answered with the Whole of Life

I believe that to go where God calls, not only a degree and expertise but the whole of life must be prepared. I want to receive my spirituality and character, competence and life-in-community, time and finances, relationships and future all as belonging to God, and to live as a faithful steward.

Like the apostle Paul, I want to be a servant who does not count his own life dear in order to finish the ministry received from the Lord Jesus. And like Jim Elliot, rather than clinging to what cannot be kept forever, I want to gladly give my one and only life for the eternal kingdom of God.

Yet the center of this devotion is not my sacrifice or resolve. It is the grace of God who first loved, called, and sends me. I am not someone trying to achieve great things on my own, but one who wants to be a faithful servant obeying to the end in the place God has entrusted.

Seeking the Coming of God’s Kingdom

The purpose of mission is not to expand my name or my ministry. It is that, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, one person is made new, a disciple who has been built up serves yet another, and the fruit of God’s kingdom appears within a campus and a community.

The kingdom of God is not built by my ability or by human progress. It comes only through the gospel of Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit. I am not a savior but a witness of the gospel; not the owner of God’s kingdom but a servant of it.

So I do not try to possess results. In the place God sends me, I want to share the gospel, love people, and raise disciples. Trusting that God makes all the fruit grow, I will obey the calling to the end.

My Missionary Confession

I am a disciple called to Jesus Christ by the grace of God. I listen to the voice of the Lord who called me and live according to His word. As a disciple of Christ, I have been sent into the world as a witness of the gospel. I believe mission is not the ministry of a special few, but a biblical obedience in which every disciple takes part with their own place and gifts. Following the legacy of gospel proclamation, discipleship training, and world mission received in JDM, I love one person and walk with them until they grow into a disciple who builds up another. I receive my learning and vocation, time and possessions, relationships and future, health and life as belonging to God, and use them as a faithful steward. Beginning in 2035, I will live as an educator and self-supporting missionary at a university in the country to which God sends me. Partnering with the local church, I share the gospel with students and help them be built up as disciples who serve their own campus, people, and next generation. I seek the glory of God above worldly success, and the reward of heaven above earthly repayment. I respond with the whole of my life to the God who calls and sends me, and I remain faithful to the end for the coming of His kingdom.

The Calling Discerned Through the Word

Mission2035 is not a life plan I drew up one day. It is a calling God has confirmed again and again in the process of meditating on the word and obeying within community.

Meditating on the Gospel of John, I learned that a disciple is first someone who hears the Lord’s voice and follows Him. The disciple’s life is to abide in Christ and bear fruit, to love one another as Jesus loved, and to carry on in life the service the Lord showed.

At the same time I came to see that, just as Jesus was sent by the Father, the disciples too are sent into the world. Through Acts I meditated on how the church, having received the power of the Holy Spirit, is called to live as witnesses of Jesus Christ from nearby to the ends of the earth.

The more I read the word, the more I realized that mission is not an extra ministry given only to special people, but obedience that flows naturally from the life of a disciple who follows Jesus Christ. As a result my question changed from “Will I do missions?” to “As a disciple who has already been sent, where and how will I obey?”

Mission2035 is my present answer to that question. Trusting that God will guide even more clearly, I want to obey step by step within the word, community, and studies entrusted to me today.
